The record
Promises made. Promises kept.
What Darnell delivered in his first term in Albany — working across the aisle when it helps Staten Island, standing firm when it doesn't.

“Staten Island doesn't need a talker in Albany. It needs a closer.”
About Darnell
From Stapleton to the State Assembly.
Darnell grew up on the North Shore, the son of an MTA bus operator and a nurse at Staten Island University Hospital. He paid his way through Wagner College working nights as an EMT, then opened Brooks Family Bakery on New Dorp Lane — a business that now employs 18 neighbors.
Elected in 2024, he's known in Albany for showing up early, reading the bill and refusing to trade Staten Island's interests for a headline. Darnell and his wife Monique live in Eltingville with their three kids.
The next-term agenda
Built on 300 coffee-shop conversations.
For the commuters
The forgotten borough isn't forgetting in November.
Staten Islanders have the longest commutes in America. Darnell is fighting for a ferry every 15 minutes around the clock, more express buses, and an end to tolls that punish us for living here.
